'appy days

My other half and I have finished planning out 2 week USA road trip honeymoon! We are doing a week in San Francisco for the wedding and then driving Highway1 and across to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon! We have loads planned and will start booking in a few months! Excited to be a wife! Bought a swimsuit for it last week - over planned? Yeah thats me!

I also have loads of things moving along on the business side of things... lots of new projects and collaborations and its all go at I am Magpie HQ! I also have the outline prepared for not one but 2 stories that I have put on the back-burner for years. I am one for tackling too many things simultaneously but if it works don't fix it eh?

Soon I will be posting a little how to for you all and I will keep you updated on projects. In the mean time pop over to www.iammagpie.co.uk for the new website which looks fab!

Graze snack box

It came through my letter box like a hero in the afternoon. 4 little sections each dedicated to my stomach at this fragile lunch time.

The Beach contains bananas, mango and pineapple. Naked goodness seeds are lush. Copacabana is brazil nuts and chocolate and the lost army oriental crackers.

Now go away and leave me to graze.

ps i advise you go to graze.com immediately and order your own.

Spolit at Christmas and New Year BIG Ideas

Hey there!

I got totally spoilt at Christmas. And we bought an iPad. iTastic. Ha!

Here are a few of the things I got:

What did you get under your tree?

For 2011 I have big plans:

1st: This week I am re-designing my website and branding. As a designer I think it is easy to overlook and overthink your style but I think this time I need to change it! It looks lush at the moment...

2nd: New fairs: I am hoping to broaden my fair horizons with weddings and of course, more craft markets!

3rd: I am going to learn my new skills, and put them to good use. Can't wait!

4th: Puppy. Yes. This is the year I get my puppy. After I worked out how to balance the work/home deal I worked out I can finally have a dog. We are very excited, young pup should be along in March-ish

5th: Health. Its 16 months til our own wedding and we want to use this time to get fit and eat better. I am not cutting out anything in particular just control!

6th: 30. Its less than six months until my birthday. I am excited although I am not doing anything really!

7th: House: I have some plans to make the house over a bit, just small things and a lot in the garden for pup.

Have you made a things to do in 2011 list? Its good to have plans, no matter how tiny. My new FiloFax is essential in this! Love it!!

What I love about winter...

It's a bit nippy out, right? But this is good. I get to hide inside with T and make things. That's right folks, winter is here! Hooray I say. Here's my top 6 things I heart about winter:

1. My fiance-beyonce (Toby, not actually beyonce)
Toby is awesome at this time of year, always the firhst to suggest pulling out the sofa bed and getting down the duvet. Always the first to suggest cooking a curry or a soup or something warm. Always waking me up a little later than he should so the heating has time to warm up. And always getting me the best xmas gifties ever.

2. Planning & Writing
It's the start of a new year and that means my planning goes into overdrive. I can always rely on Tobes to get me a note book or two at Xmas - which is good as the rest of mine are pretty full by now. There's nothing I like more than a new notebook and a new idea. Writing comes easier in the Winter. The stillness and the low light. I think thats why.

3. Baking & Making
We hand make all our xmas gifts, this is the 3rd xmas we've done it. Not to each other, just to friends and family. We plan what we're making and Tobes puts aside some time in his busy work schedule to get a bit messy and make some food and cakes. This year we have a whole heap of new things to try. I'm dead excited!

4. Long nights & Sky premier!
You can always rely on winter for some good premiers. Last week we had Zombieland and 2012 amoungst the pile on our planner. I love a good disaster movie. Love it. 2012 is one of the best! Zombieland is amazing, not the american Shawn of the Dead, an entity in its own right. We also watched another film with Chris Pine (the new Captain Kirk) about a zombie-esque infection, it was a bit pap but made me want to watch better versions like 28 days later!

5. Christmas morning
We get up early, have stockings in bed, have a big brekkie and then open gifts. We usually stay in our PJ's for as much of the day as possible. Its the day for family and right now we are a family of two. I count brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers as extended family and love them all the same but me and toby are family and until that grows he's all I need for christmas.

6. Our anniversary
January 4th 2006, me a bit drunk, him a bit sober. Cold night, long chat outside the old Norwich Union building. We decide to give it a shot. Never has a better decision been made.

Happy winter everyone, hope you have your own list of reasons to love the season of loving.
